Prostaglandin analogs (bimatoprost, travoprost, tafluprost, etc.) have similar effects to prostaglandins and are effective drugs for treating glaucoma. These compounds exhibit abnormal reactions such as causing eyelash growth, with several cases being reported of people purchasing them to increase eyelash growth; however, some cases have reported side effects such as pigmentation and dry eyes.

Development of Turbocharging-Ability Hybrid Nanogenerators Comprising Bipolar PVDF-HFP/MXene Electrospun Composites.

Coupling piezo-active and triboelectric materials has recently emerged as an effective technique for developing high-performance hybrid nanogenerators (HNGs). This is the first paper to report the fabrication of piezo-active poly(vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene)(PVDF-HFP)/MXene-based hybrid composite fibers through conventional electrospinning. Here, the effect of MXene content (1-5%) on the surface potential and electrical performance of the as-synthesized composites is investigated and optimized.

Characteristics and Outcomes of Surgical Treatment for Anterolateral Ankle Impingement Due to the Distal Fascicle of the Anterior Inferior Tibiofibular Ligament.

Background: The pathomechanism of anterolateral ankle impingement (ALAI) due to the distal fascicle of the anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament (DF-AITFL) has not been fully elucidated. In addition, because of its rarity, no definitive diagnostic criteria have been established for ALAI due to DF-AITFL.

Purpose: To document the symptom characteristics and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and and arthroscopic findings as well as postoperative clinical outcomes of ALAI due to DF-AITFL.

Predictive value of left atrial volumes assessed using real-time three-dimensional echocardiography for pulmonary hypertension in dogs with myxomatous mitral valve disease.

Introduction: Left atrial volume (LAV) obtained using real-time three-dimensional echocardiography (RT3DE) is an independent predictor of post-capillary pulmonary hypertension (PH) in humans; however, no studies have investigated LAV obtained using RT3DE as a predictor of post-capillary PH in dogs with myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD). Therefore, we aimed to evaluate the clinical applicability of LAV obtained using RT3DE compared to that obtained using two-dimensional echocardiography (2DE) in dogs with MMVD, with or without PH.

Methods: Medical records and echocardiographic images of 237 privately owned dogs with naturally occurring MMVD with or without PH were retrospectively reviewed.

Additionally, fibula osteotomy (FO) is selectively selected and performed according to the surgeon's preference. However, it is controversial whether FO is effective in shifting the abnormal pressure from the medial to the lateral area on the ankle joint.
