Arsenocholine-containing methacrylate (MTAsB) inspired by marine organisms was synthesized by the reaction of 2-bromoethyl methacrylate and trimethylarsine to investigate its polymerization behavior and the fundamental properties of the resulting polymer. Controlled radical polymerization of MTAsB proceeded in the presence of a copper catalyst and imidazolium chloride at 60 °C for 8 h to give a water-soluble polycation with a 94% yield. The smaller amount of nonfreezing water and intermediate water of poly(MTAsB) was observed compared with that of the ammonium-containing polycations.

Various magnetic configurations were examined, including ferromagnetic (FM) and antiferromagnetic (AFM) states, with particular focus on AFM states where the Gd magnetic moments align either parallel (AFM) or perpendicular (AFM) to the [111] crystal direction. For AFM, the in-plane angles were varied at = 0°, 15°, and 30° (denoted as AFM, AFM, and AFM, respectively).

Background: Intestinal ischemia affects the functioning of the Enteric Nervous System (ENS). Pannexin-1 channel participates in cell communication and extracellular signaling. Probenecid (PB) is a pannexin-1 channel inhibitor, which can be a potential treatment for intestinal ischemia.

Here, the results of electron spin resonance and muon-spin relaxation measurements on β^{'}-EtMe_{3}Sb[Pd(dmit)_{2}]_{2} are presented. Both results indicate characteristic behaviors related to quasi-one-dimensional spin dynamics, whereas the direction of anisotropy found in electron spin resonance is in contradiction with previous theories.

Methods: The gliding between the epimysium of the vastus lateralis muscle and the subcutaneous tissue was measured using a diagnostic ultrasound system during the subject's knee joint was flexed passively. The deep temperature, deep blood flow, and tissue hardness of the vastus lateralis muscle were measured to identify factors contributing to the changes in fascial gliding.
