Many relevant metabolites, as well as chemical commodities, contain at least one sulfate ester group. Consequently, biocatalytic strategies to attach sulfate to a molecule under mild conditions are of high interest. In order to expand the enzymatic toolbox available, five new arylsulfate sulfotransferases (ASSTs) were identified in this study.

We study the effects of a planar interface and confinement on a generic catalytically activated ring-closing polymerization reaction near an unstructured catalyst. For this, we employ a coarse-grained polymer model using grand-canonical molecular dynamics simulations with a Monte Carlo reaction scheme. Inspired by recent experiments in the group of M.

Objectives: The increase in life expectancy as a result of therapeutic improvements subsequently leads to a large number of patients with advanced age. The aim of this study was to review the 30-day mortality and mid-term outcome of octogenarians undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) or valve replacement (AVR/MVR).

Methods: The data of 641 patients with a mean age of 82.

An epizootic of Pacheco's disease is reported from a zoo bird population. The infection was introduced by wild-captured Patagonian conures (Cyanoliseus patagonus) despite 61 days of quarantine. The disease affected several parrot species and, interestingly, three out of seven bearded barbets (Lybius dubius).
