Mesenteric lymphangioma (ML) has only rarely been reported in the literature. These cases are rare enough to arouse interest when encountered. Usually, the cases are asymptomatic but may present with acute or chronic intestinal obstruction.

We report three South African black teenage girls with extensive pruritic papular lesions arising on a pachydermatous base, resembling severe atopic dermatitis or onchodermatitis. All three had peculiar hypertrophic genital lesions and peripheral blood eosinophilia. Histological studies showed an eosinophil-rich lymphohistiocytic infiltrate and variable fibrosis.

This study was undertaken to investigate the response rate, time to treatment failure and survival time of patients with hepatocellular cancer (HCC) treated with beta-interferon or menogaril. Sixty-nine patients with histologically confirmed, advanced, measurable hepatocellular carcinoma were randomized to receive beta-interferon or menogaril. Eligibility criteria included an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status of 0, 1, 2, or 3, as well as adequate kidney and liver function and hematologic reserve.
