Chronic graft-versus-host disease is a late complication of allogeneic stem cell transplantation and leads to chronic inflammation and fibrosis in various organs due to dysregulation of donor immune cells. The disease can occur in all organs, but is most frequently seen in the skin, eyes, oral cavity, gastrointestinal tract, genitalia, lungs, muscles, fascia and joints.
