Uncombable hair syndrome is a rare hair shaft anomaly presenting in childhood with blond, frizzy, and unruly hair. This case report presents a 9-year-old boy with remarkable hair where the mother, after reading a medical paper on hair shaft anomalies, suspected uncombable hair syndrome. She reached out to the author group, and the employment of molecular genetics later confirmed the diagnosis of uncombable hair syndrome.

In this review, we focus on gut microbiota profiles in infants and adults colonized (CDC) or infected (CDI) with . After a short update on CDI epidemiology and pathology, we present the gut dysbiosis profiles associated with CDI in adults and infants, as well as the role of dysbiosis in spores germination and multiplication. Both molecular and culturomic studies agree on a significant decrease of gut microbiota diversity and resilience in CDI, depletion of , and phyla and a high abundance of , associated with low butyrogenic and high lactic acid-bacteria levels.

A nanocomposite formed from molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) and graphene quantum dots (GQDs) was proposed as a novel and suitable support for enzyme immobilisation displaying interesting electrochemical properties. The conductivity of the carbon based screen-printed electrodes was highly improved after modification with MoS2 nanoflakes and GQDs, the nanocomposite also providing compatible matrix for laccase immobilisation. The influence of different modification steps on the final electroanalytical performances of the modified electrode were evaluated by UV-vis absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X ray diffraction, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry.
