Efficient routes toward activation of -chlorofluorocyclopropane-derived (2-fluoroallyl)boronates for allylboration of various ketones including functionalized and low-reactive ones were developed. Increasing the boron electrophilicity by the transformation of a boronate moiety into a borinic ester with BuLi/trifluoroacetic anhydride (TFAA) makes (2-fluoroallyl)boration of acetyl arenes/hetarenes and aliphatic ketones possible with high diastereoselectivity. For low-reactive or sterically hindered ketones (e.

Conceptually new methods of hydrate formation are proposed. The first one is based on the shock wave impact on a water-bubble medium. It is shown that the hydrate formation rate in this process is typically very high.

Bacterial L-asparaginases, which are widely used in the antitumor therapy, act only as homotetramers, because their active sites are located at the interface between the subunits of the enzyme. Since salt bridges substantially stabilize L-asparaginase tetramers, we have supposed that oligomerization of bacterial L-asparaginase is a high-avidity process. This assumption was proved by bioinformatic and biosensoric methods.

Bacterial L-asparaginases catalyzing hydrolysis of L-asparagine up to L-aspartate and ammonia, are used in medical practice for treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The long-term therapy with these preparations is accompanied by a number of side effects, which are attributed to glutaminase activity of L-asparaginase. Substrate specificity and activity of L-asparaginases are directly associated with the process of enzyme oligomerization.

Only spot bronchography, and if its results are negative, transthoracal puncture permit a correct diagnosis of blocked or partially blocked pulmonary abscess in 2/3 of cases. This result is of importance for the choice of the treatment strategy in such patients. Use of thin or super-thin needles for puncture helped to do without serious complications and obtain reliable diagnostic information in 90% of cases.
