It is a significant contributor to disability-adjusted life-years in individuals aged 50 and older, impacting a substantial portion of this population globally. The pathophysiology of AD is primarily explained by two hypotheses: the amyloid cascade hypothesis and the tau hypothesis.

It is reported to have antibacterial, anticancer, blood sugar regulation, and immune system boosting properties. However, the presence of toxic metals in gum is caused for caution as these metals can be harmful if taken in high quantities.

Various methods have been employed to minimise infection rates of infection one of which is intra-operative wound irrigation. This study aims to compare the frequency of surgical site infections after wound irrigation of contaminated and dirty wounds with normal saline and aqueous povidone-iodine solutions.

Impact of iodinated contrast shortage on contrast-associated acute kidney injury: a single center experience.

Background: In March 2022, a COVID-19 outbreak disrupted the global supply of iodine contrast media (ICM). Healthcare systems implemented contrast-saving strategies to maintain their remaining ICM supplies. This study sought to determine the impact of contrast shortage on the incidence of contrast-associated acute kidney injury (CA-AKI).
