The study includes 40 cases of skin replacement performed by an ophthalmologist over a period of 4 years. An absorbable implant material, Bioplast fibrin, was used as a graft following the extirpation of 12 eyelid tumors, the treatment of eight fresh, destructive skin injuries, and the removal of deforming scars around the eyes, in 20 cases. The biocompatible implant provided barrier properties preventing infection or excessive fluid loss.
