Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is a type of peripheral neuropathy that develops in patients treated with certain anticancer drugs. Oxaliplatin (OXA) causes CIPN in approximately 80-90 % of patients; thus, it is necessary to elucidate its underlying mechanism and develop effective treatments and prevention methods. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP)/PAC1 receptor system in the spinal dorsal horn is involved in OXA-induced acute cold allodynia and examine the effect of a PAC1 receptor antagonist.

Since diabetes is a major driver of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), we characterized the mouse model of diabetic MASH (dMASH) by focusing on PDGF signaling. Pdgfa-d expression was markedly higher in hepatic stellate cells among flow-sorted cells in control mice and also increased in dMASH.

Conventional antidepressants targeting monoamines in the brain based on the monoamine hypothesis are known to take a prolonged time to be effective or less effective in 30% of MDD patients. Hence, there is a need to develop antidepressants that are effective against treatment-resistant depression and have a new mechanism different from the monoamine hypothesis.

Most outpatients with CKD use community pharmacies owing to the free access scheme in Japan. The MieYaku-CKD project included a community pharmacist-led nutritional intervention for dietary potassium restriction, with the goal of determining its efficacy for patients' awareness of potassium restriction and serum potassium levels in outpatients with CKD.

There are at least four isoforms of MKL2/MRTFB. Among these, MKL2/MRTFB isoform 1 and spliced neuronal long isoform of SRF transcriptional coactivator (SOLOIST)/MRTFB isoform 4 (MRTFB i4) are highly expressed in neurons.
