COMPARATIVE PHARMACOECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF SELF-CONTROL OF DIABETES MELLITUS USING GLUCOMETERS.

Objective: The aim: To pharmacoeconomic analysis of direct medical costs for self-control of diabetes in Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia. Our observational, cross-sectional study aims at finding out the real costs of covering expenses in order to make decisions on the reimbursement of self-control means.

Healthcare-associated infections in intensive care units.

Objective: Introduction: Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) remain a major public health problem and patient safety threat worldwide. Scant information is available on the occurrence HAI and antimicrobial susceptibility of responsible pathogens in Ukrainian intencive care units (ICUs). The aim: To evaluate the prevalence of HAIs and antimicrobial resistance of the responsible pathogens.

[A method of accelerated detection of tuberculosis pathogen].

Results of a comparative study of growth properties of elaborated nutrient medium VLACON and traditional Lovenshtein-Jensen medium are presented in the paper. It is established, that the rate of mycobacterium growth on VLACON medium is 10-20 times higher than on the traditional nutrient medium. Mycobacteria preserve their tinctorial, cultural and pathogenic properties during the cultivation on VLACON medium.
