We report the synthesis and characterization of new, user-friendly gold(I) [Au(μ-(NH)CCF)] coordination polymer and [AuCl(NH(NH=)CCF)] complex. These compounds were investigated for potential application as precursors in chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and focused electron/ion beam-induced deposition (FEBID/FIBID), which are additive methods to produce nanomaterials. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, and infrared spectroscopy were used to determine the complexes' composition and structure.

We report the synthesis and characterization of new palladium(II) β-ketoesterate complexes [Pd(CHCOCHCOR)] with alkyl substituents R = Bu, Pr, Et. These compounds can have potential use in focused electron beam induced deposition (FEBID), which is a direct write method for the growth of structures at the nanoscale. However, it is still a major challenge to obtain deposits with a high metal content, and new precursor molecules are needed to overcome this.

Inflammasomes are essential for host defense, recognizing foreign or stress signals to trigger immune responses, including maturation of IL-1 family cytokines and pyroptosis. Here, NLRP1 is emerging as an important sensor of viral infection in barrier tissues. Cream-type emulsions containing candelilla wax-based oleogels (EC) were analyzed for their physicochemical properties compared to palm oil-based creams (EP). The microstructure, rheological behavior, stability, and color of the creams were determined by means of non-invasive and invasive techniques. All the formulations exhibited similar color parameters in CIEL*a*b* space, unimodal-like size distribution of lipid particles, and shear-thinning properties.
