Article Synopsis
  • Adar2 mice are commonly used to study the effects of reduced RNA editing, specifically relating to the Gria2 subunit of the AMPA receptor, which impacts their circadian rhythms.
  • The study found that Gria2 mice lost circadian rhythmicity in the hippocampus when compared to Adar2 mice, indicating a significant effect on their internal clock.
  • These findings suggest that the postnatal increase in editing of the Gria2 subunit is important for the circadian clock's development in certain brain areas, raising questions about using Gria2 mice as controls in related experiments.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the effectiveness of a 6-month walking intervention, which includes self-monitoring and telephone counseling, on improving functional capacity in patients with heart failure and reduced ejection fraction.
  • It used a randomized controlled trial design, recruiting participants from six centers in the Czech Republic, focusing on those with specific health criteria and excluding those with higher initial functional capacity.
  • The main outcome measured was the distance walked in a 6-minute test after 6 months, along with various secondary outcomes related to physical activity, health biomarkers, and quality of life.

Equine Facilitated Psychiatry and Psychology (EFPP) is a supportive non-pharmacological treatment program used in the treatment of patients with substance use disorder. The aim of this study was to evaluate a possible change in patient's health and health-related quality of life between the first and fourth session of the EFPP program using the Assessment of Quality of Life (AQoL) and the Health of the Nation Outcome Scales (HoNOS). The Human-Animal Interaction Scale (HAIS) and a 5-point Likert-type scale was used for an assessment of patient's mood in the experimental group.
