Objective: We aimed to examine the cognitive profile in adolescents with anorexia nervosa (AN) and its association with traits of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and ADHD. In addition, resemblance in the cognitive profile between youths with AN and their parents was explored.

Methods: Adolescent females with acute AN (n = 20) and a healthy comparison group (n = 28) completed neuropsychological tasks of set-shifting (Trail making test, Wisconsin Card Sorting Test) and central coherence (Rey Complex Figures Task, Group Embedded Figures Test, object assembly subtest).

We analysed and compared the oral microbial flora in four groups with hyposalivation caused by radiation therapy (RT), primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS), medication or unknown factors (Unknown), or neuroleptic treatment (Neuro). A control group with normal salivary secretion was also included. The subjects included were 54 +/- 8 years old and had 25 +/- 4 teeth.

Denture marking is of crucial importance especially in homes for the elderly where dentures could be misplaced, particularly during cleaning by staff where there is a chance of loss or mix-up. Recent research regarding denture marking in homes for the elderly shows that only about 50% of the dentures were marked and that the issue should receive attention. The aim of this study was to investigate the number of subjects with natural teeth and the number of edentulous subjects in homes for the elderly in Göteborg, Sweden.

Behavioral disturbances are common in dementia. Polypharmacy due to progression of disease and fluctuation of symptoms among patients might increase risk of overtreatment and/or undertreatment.
