Background: This study aimed to determine the catastrophic healthcare expenditure (CHE) among people living with HIV (PLHIV) in Lagos and to identify factors associated with CHE among them.
Methods: The study was a descriptive cross-sectional survey conducted between January and March 2021 among 578 PLHIVs drawn from various healthcare facilities in Lagos where HIV care and treatment services should be provided free of charge. Data were collected through pretested questionnaires and analyzed using Stata SE 12.
Background: Glioblastoma (GBM) systematically recurs after a standard 60 Gy radio-chemotherapy regimen. Since magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (MRSI) has been shown to predict the site of relapse, we analyzed the effect of MRSI-guided dose escalation on overall survival (OS) of patients with newly diagnosed GBM.
Methods: In this multicentric prospective phase III trial, patients who had undergone biopsy or surgery for a GBM were randomly assigned to a standard dose (SD) of 60 Gy or a high dose (HD) of 60 Gy with an additional simultaneous integrated boost totaling 72 Gy to MRSI metabolic abnormalities, the tumor bed and residual contrast enhancements.
Background: Domesticated animals play a role in maintaining residual transmission of Plasmodium parasites of humans, by offering alternative blood meal sources for malaria vectors to survive on. However, the blood of animals treated with veterinary formulations of the anti-helminthic drug ivermectin can have an insecticidal effect on adult malaria vector mosquitoes. This study therefore assessed the effects of treating cattle with long-acting injectable formulations of ivermectin on the survival of an important malaria vector species, to determine whether it has potential as a complementary vector control measure.

Materials And Methods: Progression was suspected within 6 months of radiotherapy in 46 of the 180 patients included in the Phase-III SpectroGlio trial (NCT01507506). Choline/creatine (Cho/Cr), choline/N-acetyl aspartate (Cho/NAA) and lactate/N-acetyl aspartate (Lac/NAA) ratios were extracted.

Introduction: Despite the implementation of control strategies at the national scale, the malaria burden remains high in Mali, with more than 2.8 million cases reported in 2019. In this context, a new approach is needed, which accounts for the spatio-temporal variability of malaria transmission at the local scale.
