Cervical disc arthroplasty (CDA) is a well known treatment for single level cervical disc degeneration. In multi level disc degeneration anterior cervical disc fusion (ACDF) is often combined with a CDA. In this hybrid construction, motion is preserved at the level of the CDA.

The authors conducted a prospective non-randomised study on the ProDisc intervertebral prosthesis versus anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF). The first group included 14 patients, the second group 10 patients. In the ProDisc group the Oswestry Disability Index improved from +/- 38.

Plantar keratoses and verrucous lesions are common foot problems in the orthopaedic, dermatologic, and podiatric practices. Treatment often is palliative. Two cases of squamous cell carcinoma are presented to draw attention to the potential for these lesions to deteriorate into malignant lesions.

Thirty-one patients (thirty-two feet) had excision of the interdigital nerve as treatment of their Morton's metatarsalgia. A longitudinal dorsal incision was used in all cases. Twenty-five out of 32 cases had a macroscopically visible neuroma, and only two had no evidence of a neuroma on histological examination.

We treated 12 patients with a posttraumatic or congenital deformity of the distal radius. A radial osteotomy and a Sauvé-Kapandji procedure were carried out. In 9 patients the deformity was caused by a malunited fracture; the other 3 patients were referred to us with a Madelung deformity.
