Maternal gut microbiota composition contributes to the status of the neonatal immune system and could influence the early life higher susceptibility to viral respiratory infections. Using a novel protocol of murine maternal probiotic supplementation, we report that perinatal exposure to () or () increases the influenza A/PR8 virus (IAV) clearance in neonates. Following either supplementation, type 1 conventional dendritic cells (cDC1) were amplified in the lymph nodes leading to an enhanced IAV antigen-experienced IFN-γ producing effector CD8 T cells in neonates and IAV-specific resident memory CD8 T cells in adulthood.

Background: Previous breast carcinoma studies focused on the evaluation of tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) or of tumoural stroma via the tumour stroma ratio (TSR). Few studies assessed peritumoural lymphocytes and almost no studies investigated a possible relationship between lymphocytes and stroma. This prompted us to evaluate the amount of tumour cells, intra- and peritumoural lymphocytes, and stroma in breast cancer to support the hypothesis that the stroma may block the infiltration of lymphocytes inside the tumour.

Central Nervous System (CNS) pediatric tumors represent the most common solid tumors in children with a wide variability in terms of survival and therapeutic response. By contrast to their adult counterpart, the mutational landscape of pediatric CNS tumors is characterized by oncogenic fusions rather than multiple mutated genes. CNS pediatric tumors associated with oncogenic fusions represent a complex landscape of tumors with wide radiological, morphological and clinical heterogeneity.

Background: Recurrent high-grade glioma (rHGG) lacks effective life-prolonging treatments and the efficacy of systemic PD-1 and CTLA-4 immune checkpoint inhibitors is limited. The multi-cohort Glitipni phase I trial investigates the safety and feasibility of intraoperative intracerebral (iCer) and postoperative intracavitary (iCav) nivolumab (NIVO) ± ipilimumab (IPI) treatment following maximal safe resection (MSR) in rHGG.

Materials And Methods: Patients received 10 mg IV NIVO within 24 h before surgery, followed by MSR, iCer 5 mg IPI and 10 mg NIVO, and Ommaya catheter placement in the resection cavity.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is reported to be amongst the cancers with the lowest survival rate at 5 years. In the present study we aimed to validate a targeted next-generation sequencing (tNGS) panel to use in clinical routine, investigating genes important for PDAC diagnostic, prognostic and potential theragnostic aspect. In this NGS panel we also designed target regions to inquire about loss of heterozygosity (LOH) of chromosome 18 that has been described to be possibly linked to a worse disease progression.
