Age and gender differences in Framingham risk score and metabolic syndrome in psoriasis patients: A cross-sectional study in the Turkish population.

Objective: Psoriasis is associated with an increased frequency of cardiovascular risk factors. Metabolic syndrome (MS) and the Framingham risk score (FRS) are two different algorithms for evaluating cardiovascular risk. They include different features: waist circumference measurement is included in the MS criteria, whereas smoking, age, and gender are questioned in FRS.

TUR-PSO: A cross-sectional, study investigating quality of life and treatment status of psoriasis patients in Turkey.

Psoriasis is a common inflammatory disease that has a severe impact on quality of life. There is lack of data regarding epidemiological and clinical features of psoriasis patients in Turkey, a country with a population of 76 million. The aim of this study was to define the demographic and clinical characteristics, quality of life and treatment patterns of psoriasis patients in Turkey.

Necrotic ulcer: a manifestation of leukemia cutis.

A 71-year-old man presented to our dermatological clinic with a 3-month history of a wound on his leg. He complained of weakness for the past few months. On his dermatological examination he had a 3x3-cm necrotic ulcer on his left tibia (Figure 1).

Acne: prevalence and relationship with dietary habits in Eskisehir, Turkey.

Background: Acne vulgaris is a common disease affecting adolescents. There is not comprehensive data on acne prevalence in the Central Anatolia Region in particular. Etiology of acne is not clarified yet.
