Objectives: Migration accelerates population aging in high-outmigration contexts. Older adults who remain in high-outmigration contexts are at higher risk of reduced support networks and increased caregiving burden, but prior work has not quantified how migration influences older adults' kinship structures in such places. This study aims to estimate the kinship structures of older adults living in Puerto Rico and the presence of migrant kin.

This study reflects a contemporary experience of mechanical right-left rotational extraction by cardiac surgeons in the OR.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective single-center review of adult (age ≥18 years) TLE cases performed by cardiac surgeons between 2019 and 2021.
Commensal oral streptococci that colonize supragingival biofilms deploy mechanisms to combat competitors within their niche. Here, we determined that more effectively inhibited biofilm formation of compared to other oral streptococci. This phenotype was common among all isolates of , but was specific to a single strain of , ATCC 49456.
