Measurement of thermal resistance of polymer sheets and fibrous layers is important in various applications including those within the engineering, ergonomics, clothing design and personal protective equipment fields. Standard methods for measurement of thermal resistance of plain materials are generally time consuming, expensive and often require the sample to be cut. Moreover, the temperature difference between the surfaces of both plates surrounding the sample must be known, as well as the sample thickness.

PCDD/PCDF were determined in solid samples from wood combustion. The samples included grate ashes, bottom ashes, furnace ashes as well as fly and cyclone ashes. The solid waste samples were classified into bottom and fly ash from native wood and bottom and fly ash from waste wood.

At present, tumor invasion represents the most reliable prognostic factor for primary malignant melanoma. The 10-year survival rate of "thin" melanomas (Breslow less than 0.76 mm) is more than 95%, but approximately 5% of these low-risk tumors do metastasize.

The authors analyzed a group of 52 case-sheets from hospitalized patients with the objective to provide protective in-patient treatment in the sanatorium in Havlíckův Brod. Hospitalizations terminated during the two-year period from July 1, 1988 to June 30, 1990 were involved. The stimulus for this work was the dissatisfaction of the authors with the practice of protective treatment provided in the region.
