Protecting Distress Migrants' Right to Health in Ecuador: Are Legal Commitments Being Fulfilled?

Ecuador's legal framework promises equitable access to health care for all. However, gaps in coverage are being exacerbated by the nearly 500,000 Venezuelan distress migrants remaining in the country over the past decade. The purpose of our study was to examine how the Ecuadorian health system responds to the needs of migrant populations arriving in poor health conditions.

Boldine reduces left ventricle oxidative stress in isoproterenol-induced adrenergic overload experimental model.

Sustained adrenergic overload in the heart causes maladaptive cardiac remodelling, which involves oxidative stress. Boldine (BOL) has antioxidant activity and represents a novel therapeutic approach. This study explored the cardioprotective role of BOL in adverse left ventricular remodelling induced by isoproterenol.

The Europa Imaging System (EIS) Investigation.

The Europa Imaging System (EIS) consists of a Narrow-Angle Camera (NAC) and a Wide-Angle Camera (WAC) that are designed to work together to address high-priority science objectives regarding Europa's geology, composition, and the nature of its ice shell. EIS accommodates variable geometry and illumination during rapid, low-altitude flybys with both framing and pushbroom imaging capability using rapid-readout, 8-megapixel (4k × 2k) detectors. Color observations are acquired using pushbroom imaging with up to six broadband filters.

Adapting a mobile TB screening unit to provide integrated screening services and linkage to primary care.

Objective: We adapted a mobile TB screening unit to create an integrated screening program for noncommunicable diseases and TB, using community health worker (CHW) navigators to support linkage to care. We piloted the model in underserved communities of Lima, Peru, evaluating its feasibility, acceptability, and ability to continue supporting TB case detection.

Design: The program provided screening for TB, hypertension, diabetes, and depression and was rebranded to avoid TB-associated stigma.
