Background And Purpose: The polyphenol resveratrol (RSV) exists in high quantities in certain foods (e.g. grapes and nuts).

We have shown that rats' performance of a spontaneous tactile-to-visual CMOR task requires functional integration of perirhinal (PRh) and posterior parietal (PPC) cortices, which seemingly provide visual and tactile object feature processing, respectively. However, research with primates has suggested that PRh is sufficient for multisensory object representation.

Pomegranate fruit and grape seed extracts were found to exhibit anti-resorptive activity by inhibiting receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB ligand (RANKL) expression in MG-63 cells and to reduce IL-1β-stimulated calvarial (45)Ca loss. A combination of pomegranate fruit and grape seed extracts were shown to be effective at inhibiting bone loss in ovariectomised rats as demonstrated by standard histomorphometry, biomechanical and bone mineral density measurements.

Background: Articular cartilage undergoes substantial age-related changes in molecular composition, matrix structure, and mechanical properties. These age-related differences between juvenile and adult cartilage manifest themselves as markedly distinct potentials for tissue repair and regeneration.
Purpose: To compare the biological properties and tissue regeneration capabilities of juvenile and adult bovine articular cartilage.
Embryos of the annual killifish Austrofundulus limnaeus enter a state of developmental arrest termed diapause as part of their normal developmental program. Diapause can occur at two distinct developmental stages in this species, termed diapause II and III. When incubated at 25°C, most embryos enter diapause II, whereas a small percentage of 'escape' embryos develop continuously past diapause II and enter diapause III.
