Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is the most common type of thyroid cancer, with considerable variability in its clinical presentation and prognosis. Recent studies have focused on the relationship between its clinicopathological characteristics and inflammatory biomarkers, particularly the preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR). Our aim was to investigate the correlation between NLR and the clinicopathological features of PTC.

Article Synopsis
  • * Two doses of the agent (30 mg and 90 mg per cow per day) were evaluated over different incubation periods (1, 4, and 24 hours), with analytical methods showing significant reductions in mycotoxin levels.
  • * Results indicated that the lower dose (30 mg) effectively bound several toxins, suggesting it may be sufficient for protective effects, although complexities in toxin interactions within the rumen complicate definitive conclusions. *

Mycotoxins are a major threat to animal and human health, as well as to the global feed supply chain. Among them, aflatoxins, fumonisins, zearalenone, T-2 toxins, deoxynivalenol, and Alternaria toxins are the most common mycotoxins found in animal feed, with genotoxic, cytotoxic, carcinogenic, and mutagenic effects that concern the animal industry. The chronic negative effects of mycotoxins on animal health and production and the negative economic impact on the livestock industry make it crucial to develop and implement solutions to mitigate mycotoxins.

The pleiotropic roles of nSMase2-generated ceramide include regulation of intracellular ceramide signaling and exosome biogenesis. We investigated the effects of eliminating nSMase2 on early and advanced PDA, including its influence on the microenvironment. Employing the KPC mouse model of pancreatic cancer, we demonstrate that pancreatic epithelial nSMase2 ablation reduces neoplasia and promotes a PDA subtype switch from aggressive basal-like to classical.
