Background: In a per-protocol analysis of molecularly profiled patients with treatment-refractory, end-stage cancer discussed at the National Molecular Tumor Board (NMTB), we aimed to assess the overall survival (OS) outcome of targeted treatment compared with no targeted treatment.

Materials And Methods: Patients were prospectively included at a single oncological center. Whole exome and RNA sequencing (tumor-normal) were carried out, and cases were presented at the NMTB for discussion of targeted treatment.

Article Synopsis
  • Older people with multiple sclerosis (pwMS) are at a higher risk for sarcopenia, which means they may experience decreased muscle mass, strength, and function, and this issue is not well-studied in this population.
  • This study analyzed 41 older pwMS and 27 healthy controls using the EWGSOP2 diagnostic tool and focused on their muscle strength in both upper and lower extremities.
  • Results revealed that older pwMS had significantly lower muscle strength, especially in their lower extremities, and concluded that lower extremity tests are more effective for diagnosing sarcopenia in this group.

Biochar pellets produced from the solid fraction of manure-based digestates are rich in phosphorus (P) and may represent a P source that is easy to handle and suitable for transport to P-deficient regions. However, the effect of feedstock composition and particle size on P availability in this type of biochar remains unexplored. To evaluate the effect of particle size on the short-term P availability in biochars derived from manure digestate solids, an incubation experiment was carried out, in which four biochars produced from digestate solids in powder and pellet form were incubated with three soils of low P content.

Mind-Mindedness reflects parents' capacity to treat their child as an individual with a mind of their own. Research is lacking on how Representational Mind-Mindedness (RMM) translates into observable parenting behaviours beyond infancy. The present study examined how RMM was associated with parents' Acknowledging Behaviour (AB) and use of Mental State Talk (MST), and whether these associations were moderated by parents' educational level.

Article Synopsis
  • Current prognostic tools for colorectal cancer (CRC) are inadequate, making it essential to find better methods for personalized treatment.* -
  • This study investigated the role of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) biomarkers in predicting patient outcomes, analyzing samples from CRC patients diagnosed within 24 months.* -
  • Results showed that certain methylated ctDNA markers, particularly RARB, SDC2, and WNT5A, independently predicted overall survival, recurrence-free survival, and poor prognosis, suggesting their potential use in personalized treatment strategies.*
