Two synchrotron-based studies on 4H-pyran-4-thione, photoelectron spectroscopy and vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) absorption spectra were performed. A highly resolved structure was observed in the photoelectron spectrum (PES), in contrast to an earlier PES study, where little structure was observed. The sequence of ionic states was determined using configuration interaction and coupled cluster methods.

Purpose: 360-degree gonioscopy-assisted transluminal trabeculotomy (GATT) is a safe and effective angle-based intervention to lower IOP. Use of the iTrack Advance allows the surgeon to efficiently advance the microcatheter in one continuous motion with a slider, an improvement upon previous techniques in which microcatheters or sutures which had to be manually threaded through Schlemm's canal with microforceps. This report demonstrates three variations in surgical technique for successful 360-degree GATT using the iTrack Advance.

A synchrotron based vacuum ultraviolet absorption spectrum for γ-pyrone has been interpreted in terms of singlet excited electronic states using a variety of coupled cluster, configuration interaction, and density functional calculations. The extremely weak spectral onset at 3.557 eV shows eight vibrational peaks, which following previous analyses, are attributed to a forbidden 1A2 state.

Clinically, autosomal dominant polycystic liver disease is characterized by vast heterogeneity, ranging from asymptomatic to highly symptomatic hepatomegaly. To date, little is known about the prediction of disease progression at early stages, hindering clinical management, genetic counseling, and the design of randomized controlled trials.

Observations And Plan: A 91-year-old female with history of bilateral BGI-350s and prior history of tube associated endophthalmitis in the left eye requiring tube removal and resultant phthisis was referred for tube erosion and hypopyon in the right only-seeing eye, and we recommended tube removal. On exam, the left phthisical eye still had a BGI-350 plate attached under the lateral rectus muscle by one anchoring stalk, as it had not been fully removed previously, and the patient recalled severe pain during attempted tube removal in the left eye.
