A simple isotope method is explained by the authors for noninvasive functional evaluation of the gastric emptying of solid meal. According to the results of in vitro measurements suitable solid phase labelling was provided by boiling the egg traced with injected Tc-99m-pertechnetate. The evaluation of gastric emptying by means of test meal containing the radiolabelled boiled egg is simple, inexpensive and the radiation hazard is minimal.
