Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading cause of death globally. Decrease in female sex hormones during menopause increases the risk of cardiovascular disease, mainly ischemic heart disease (IHD). Quercetin, a flavonoid, has beneficial properties in CVDs due to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-apoptotic effects.

This study examines the seven most recent drought extreme events up to 2023, using seasonal composites of the sea surface temperature and atmospheric variables over a five-quarter period starting at the austral spring(-1) of the year preceding that when the lowest water level at Manaus port was recorded. Two distinct patterns emerge, driven by consecutive ENSO events with opposite phases, referred to as cyclic La Niña-El Niño and cyclic El Niño-La Niña drought events.

Background: Cutaneous tuberculosis is a rare form of the disease that defies diagnosis due to the diversity of clinical presentations. This study was based on the reality of a dermatology referral center in the Brazilian Amazon region to detail several characteristics of this disease.
Objective: To describe a series of cases of cutaneous tuberculosis treated at a dermatology service in the Brazilian Amazon region, addressing epidemiological aspects, clinical forms, diagnostic methods, treatment, and outcomes.
Objective: To analyze the new roles of community health workers as outlined in the 2017 National Primary Care Policy (PNAB) from the perspectives of both nurses and community health workers.
Methods: This qualitative study involved nurses and community health workers from Family Health teams, conducted through semi-structured interviews via videoconference between August 2021 and April 2022. The data were analyzed using thematic content analysis.

This study aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the acute and subacute safety and phytochemical profile of pomegranate leaves, aligning with the growing interest in sustainable, plant-based therapeutics. The phytochemical composition, the acute and subacute toxicity of a spray-dried hydroethanolic extract from pomegranate leaves (SDE) were investigated using experimental animal models. Utilizing UV-visible spectrophotometry and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS), a diverse array of tannins and flavonoids, totaling 38 compounds, was identified.
