Follow-up results (3-15 years) are available for 95 patients with extrapulmonary sarcoidosis. The disease presented with multiple lesions and recurrent course. Peripheral lymph nodes were the most frequent location.

Among them 1100 patients had sarcoidosis, 284 alveolitis of different etiology (including 62 patients with fibrotic alveolitis of autoimmune genesis), 45 rare pulmonary diseases, 5 carcinomatosis and 40 disseminated tuberculosis. 70% of the patients were hospitalized for pulmonary tuberculosis.

A comprehensive radionuclide evaluation supplemented by a clinicoroentgenologic and functional studies mutually enhances the diagnostic potentialities for fibrosing alveolitis of different genes.
