[The efficacy of quercetin and tocopherol acetate in treating patients with Flexner's dysentery].

Quercetin and tocopherol were given to 134 patients with Flexner's dysentery intramuscularly for 7 days; 154 patients received routine treatment. It was found that quercetin and tocopherol acetate enhanced normalization of clinical indices and restoration of the immune homeostasis. The above drugs are recommended for the complex treatment of dysentery.

[The antioxidant treatment of patients with acute intestinal infections due to gram-negative microorganisms].

It was established that administration of S. typhimurium lysate causes activation of the processes of free-radical oxidation. Introduction of unithiol in combination with magnesium sulfate returns the intensity of these processes to the initial level.

[The tocopherol acetate and splenin correction of the immunological disorders in patients with viral hepatitis B].

Inclusion of tocopherol acetate and splenin into complex treatment of viral hepatitis B (VHB) ensures a marked immunomodulating effect consisting in control of T-lymphopenia, normalization of helper-suppressor ratio, reduction of circulating immune complexes and a tendency to restoration of normal ratio between separate fractions of immune complexes, stimulation of phagocytic activity of monocytes of the peripheral blood. Splenin and tocopherol acetate are recommended in the complex treatment of hepatitis B.

[Clinico-immunologic characteristics of acute intestinal diseases caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa].

The examination of 118 intestinal disorders caused by Ps. aeruginosa in patients aged 18-60 provided evidence on its higher incidence in summer and autumn, acute onset, short latent period, systemic toxic and dyspeptic syndromes. Intestinal picture involved syndromes of gastroenteritis, gastroenterocolitis, in the severe course--of hemocolitis.
