Synthesis of conjugates of (a,7)-colchicine with monoterpenoids and investigation of their biological activity.

Conjugates of the natural alkaloid (a,7)-colchicine with bicyclic monoterpenoids and their derivatives were synthesized for the first time. Molecular docking of the synthesized agents in the active site of the main viral protease of the SARS-CoV-2 virus was carried out. The cytotoxic properties of the agents against different cell lines and the ability to inhibit the main viral protease 3CLPro were studied.

A (series) range of potential dimorpholinoquinazoline-based inhibitors of the was synthesized. Several compounds exhibited cytotoxicity towards a panel of cancer cell lines in the low and sub-micromolar range. Compound with the highest activity and moderate selectivity towards MCF7 cells which express the mutant type of PI3K was also tested for the ability to inhibit PI3K-(signaling pathway) downstream effectors and associated proteins.

A growing population of informal dementia caregivers experience chronic stress associated with extraordinary demands of caring for a relative with dementia. This review summarizes physiological and functional changes due to chronic dementia caregiver stress.

Stress-related cognitive dysfunction in dementia caregivers.

In a cross-sectional study, 31 dementia caregivers were compared to a group of 25 noncaregiving controls to evaluate whether the stress of being the primary caregiver of a person with dementia produces cognitive dysfunction. Cognitive differences were examined to evaluate the relationships between cognitive function and stress-related physiological and psychological measures to contribute information regarding its potential mechanism.
