Protein citrullination (PC) is a posttranslational modification (PTM) that converts a peptidyl arginine into a peptidyl citrulline. Aberrant PC is a hallmark of neurodegenerative diseases, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, prion disease, and multiple sclerosis. Common among these diseases is a dramatic increase of PC in reactive astrocytes.

Purpose To evaluate the performance of the winning machine learning (ML) models from the 2023 RSNA Abdominal Trauma Detection Artificial Intelligence Challenge. Materials and Methods The competition was hosted on Kaggle and took place between July 26, 2023, to October 15, 2023. The multicenter competition dataset consisted of 4,274 abdominal trauma CT scans in which solid organs (liver, spleen and kidneys) were annotated as healthy, low-grade or high-grade injury.

Methods: Patient charts of adult orbital fracture cases diagnosed via computed tomography and referred by a level 1 trauma center to the McGill University Health Centre between August 2015 to January 2018 were examined and analyzed. Clinical parameters included age, sex, mechanism of injury, morphology of orbital fracture, symptoms and examination features, and rates of ocular pathology.
