[Analysis of correlation between body length and genetic polymorphism for loci ESTD-1 and IDHP-3 in the Atlantic salmon Salmo salar].

Correlation between body length and characteristics of genetic polymorphism for loci Me-2, IDHP-3, ESTD-1, and AAT-2 were studied in the Atlantic salmon Salmo salar. The study was based on data on genetic variation in more than 4000 fish grown at the Kandalaksha Hatchery. Of four loci studied, loci ESTD-1 and IDHP-3 were distinguished by the fact that they can be confidently considered body-length markers in the Atlantic salmon.

[Transcutaneous radiofrequency destruction of the articular nerves in treating low back pains].

Lumbar pain is a most common suffering which frequently becomes chronic. In the mechanical low back syndrome caused by an abnormality in the intervertebral joints, lumbar pain may be rather easily differentiated from pain induced by to spinal root compression due to discal hernia or intervertebral foramen stenosis. The absence of benefits from conservative treatment of lumbar pain caused by intervertebral joint abnormalities is an indication for the highly effective and low-traumatic surgical technique transcutaneous radiofrequency destruction of intervertebral facette nerves.

[Spinal-epidural anesthesia: hemodynamics and hemostasis].

Combined spinal epidural anesthesia using an original Portex kit was carried out in 62 patients operated on for orthopaedic, urological, and gynecological disorders. Hemodynamics was examined by tetrapolar chest rheography, hemostasis by electrocoagulography. Satisfactory blocking was attained in 98% cases, in 1 patient an accidental puncture of the subarachnoidal space with Tuohy needle occurred.

[Correlation between animal radiosensitivity and kinetics of DNA reassociation].

A study was made of DNA of different animal species with various radiosensitivity: guinea pig, man, rat and rabbit. It was shown that the radioresistance of the organism increases with increasing relative content of a rapidly reassociating fraction in DNA. As the kinetic complexity of moderately repetitive sequences increases and the total percentage of meaddle and unique DNA fractions grows, the radioresistance of the organism decreases.
