Objective: To evaluate the changes in the electroencephalogram (EEG) parameters in time, coinciding with the changes recorded by the electrocardiogram (ECG) channel in patients after the introduction of peripheral muscle relaxants.

Material And Methods: Twenty-four patients were examined in intensive care units on artificial lung ventilation (ALV). During the study, myographic artifacts were recorded in all patients in the EEG, the elimination of which was impossible without the use of pharmacological agents leading to relaxation of muscles - muscle relaxants of peripheral action.

Objective: To evaluate the parameters of the electroencephalogram (EEG) using the methods of computer processing of EEG data for an approach to the analysis of possible neurophysiological mechanisms underlying the fluctuations detected in the EEG in patients in the somatogenic phase of acute poisoning with opioid receptor agonists.

Material And Methods: Thirty-one patients were examined in the somatogenic phase of acute poisoning with opioid receptor agonists with a wakefulness level 3 to 15 points on the Glasgow Coma Scale. The EEG was recorded in accordance with the recommendations of the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess how brain function related to cognitive abilities changes in patients recovering from encephalopathy caused by neurotoxic poisoning.
  • Fifty-six patients were evaluated, with the main group receiving various combinations of treatments, including mexidol, mesodiencephalic modulation (MDM), and hyperbaric oxygenation (HBO), while changes in brain activity and cognitive functioning were measured through neurophysiological and neuropsychological tests.
  • Results indicated significant improvements in brain function in 60% of patients overall, with an 80% positive response rate when combining mexidol, MDM, and HBO, highlighting the effectiveness of these treatments in enhancing cognitive performance during rehabilitation.

The work examines the influence of degree ofstenosis or occlusion of the internal carotid artery (ICA) of noc- turnal sleep and discusses possible neurophysiological mechanisms of sleep disorders when blood flow in ca- rotid system. 24 patients (19 male and 5 female) were examined. The mean age of men was 49.
