The role of the yolk sac membrane (YSM) and digestive tract in the processing of egg yolk proteins during embryogenesis is unexplored in the duck . Here, we investigated in the duck embryo the function of the YSM, proventriculus, and small intestine in protein digestion and uptake. We tested the expression of aminopeptidase N () and the oligopeptide transporter as well as the expression of cathepsin B () and cathepsin D () lysosomal genes in the YSM during incubation days 12, 14, 16-18, 20, 22, 24, 26, and 28 (the day of hatch).

In recent years, in addition to the positive effects of probiotics and prebiotics on health, increasing research has shown that postbiotics also have significant potential in the health field. Postbiotics are bioactive components produced by probiotic bacteria during fermentation and may exhibit antimicrobial activity. This study investigated the antimicrobial effects of liposomal postbiotics formulated in gel.

A familial subtype of gambling disorder.

Background: Although family history of psychiatric disorders has often been considered potentially useful in understanding clinical presentations in patients, it is less clear what a positive gambling family history means for people with gambling disorder. We sought to understand the clinical impact of having a first-degree relative with gambling disorder in a sample of adults with gambling disorder.

Methods: Data from 455 participants (aged 18-65 years) who had participated in previous pharmacological and psychotherapeutic clinical trials for gambling disorder were pooled in a secondary analysis.

The relationship between demographic/clinical characteristics, clinical outcomes and the development of hemorrhagic complications in patients with ischemic stroke who underwent reperfusion therapy has not been studied sufficiently. We have aimed to compare genders and age groups in terms of clinical features and outcome; and types of reperfusion treatments and clinical features regarding the development of hemorrhagic complications in patients with ischemic stroke who underwent recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rtPA) and/or thrombectomy. Patients with acute ischemic stroke undergoing rtPA and/or thrombectomy were divided into six age groups.
