Multimodal deep ensemble classification system with wearable vibration sensor for detecting throat-related events.

Dysphagia, a swallowing disorder, requires continuous monitoring of throat-related events to obtain comprehensive insights into the patient's pharyngeal and laryngeal functions. However, conventional assessments were performed by medical professionals in clinical settings, limiting persistent monitoring. We demonstrate feasibility of a ubiquitous monitoring system for autonomously detecting throat-related events utilizing a soft skin-attachable throat vibration sensor (STVS).

Development of Test Cases for Automated Vehicle Driving Safety Assessment Using Driving Trajectories.

For consumers to have confidence in the safety of automated vehicles (AVs), AVs must be assessed using systematically developed scenarios to verify driving safety and reliability. In particular, verification using scenarios has been widely performed for the assessment and certification of AVs. This study aims to develop test cases based on driving trajectories to assess the driving safety of AVs.

Capsular Contracture After Postmastectomy Radiation in Implant-Based Breast Reconstruction: Effect of Implant Pocket and Two-Stage Surgery.

Capsular contracture (CC) is a concerning issue for individuals undergoing postmastectomy radiation therapy (PMRT) with implant-based breast reconstruction. This study investigated whether the extent of CC and implant migration differs based on implant placement and the reconstruction stage. Insertion plane and stage of breast implants were investigated, and the presence and severe cases of CC and implant migration were analyzed.

Impact of medical resources in residential area on unmet healthcare needs: Findings from a multi-level analysis of Korean nationwide data.

Purpose: This study aimed to examine whether sufficient medical resources in residential areas influence individuals' unmet healthcare needs in South Korea, where overpopulation is of concern.

Methods: Two publicly available datasets were utilized: The Korean Community Health Survey at the individual-level and the Korean medical utilization statistics at the regional-level. It included 176,378 individuals.
