[Occupational and environmental factors and systemic connective tissue diseases].

The article contains the results of a study in the rates of occupational and every-day contacts with different chemical substances and consequent allergic reactions, particularly in patients with connective tissue systemic diseases. Illnesses followed expositions to different unfavourable industrial factors in 43% of lupus erythematosus cases, in 40% of the sclerodermia cases, and in 41.6% of dermatomyosites.

[Role of computerized analysis in improvement of drug therapy and prevention of drug-induced allergic reactions].

A system of computer-aided monitoring of the safety of drug therapy was developed to reduce the incidence of drug side effects. A data bank coupled with an original algorithm system helps prevent drug-induced allergic cross reactions. The system includes information on 18 groups of drugs with similar chemical structures of combined drugs including the same agent, permitting cross allergies within the group; a total of 400 drugs are included in the system.

[Use of rifampicin for directed modification of the nucleotide composition of the cells of Bacillus megaterium and Candida utilis].

The object of this work was to study the effect of rifampicin on the physiological state of Bacillus megaterium and Candida utilis in chemostat and batch cultures. When B. megaterium is cultivated in a medium containing 1 microgram of rifampicin per litre, its metabolism changes, the pool of free nucleotides rises, and the content of RNA drops in response to the specific action of the inhibitor.
