The article contains the results of a study in the rates of occupational and every-day contacts with different chemical substances and consequent allergic reactions, particularly in patients with connective tissue systemic diseases. Illnesses followed expositions to different unfavourable industrial factors in 43% of lupus erythematosus cases, in 40% of the sclerodermia cases, and in 41.6% of dermatomyosites.

A data bank coupled with an original algorithm system helps prevent drug-induced allergic cross reactions. The system includes information on 18 groups of drugs with similar chemical structures of combined drugs including the same agent, permitting cross allergies within the group; a total of 400 drugs are included in the system.

When B. megaterium is cultivated in a medium containing 1 microgram of rifampicin per litre, its metabolism changes, the pool of free nucleotides rises, and the content of RNA drops in response to the specific action of the inhibitor.
