[Theoretical approach «Aging-in-place» and the possibility of its popularization in Russia.].

In the article, we analyze a theoretical approach to the organization of the life of older people, which is called «aging-in-place» (in the English literature). In recent years, this approach, developed in the UK and positively received in Western Europe, has attracted some interest among Russian researchers as well. The purpose of the article is to show the connection of «aging-in-place» with other theoretical approaches, namely community care, deinstitutionalization of services and care for the older persons, and especially with the social exclusion of the elder.

Candidemia in cancer patients: features of the taxonomic structure.

The aim of the study was to determine the main Candida species isolated from blood of cancer patients, to compare the taxonomic structure of strains obtained from children and adults with candidemia. In total, during the study period, candidemia was microbiologically proven by blood culture in 81 patients (duplicates were excluded). Patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) accounted for 35,8%.

Microbiological and molecular identification of the anaerobic component of the oral microbiota in patients with cancer of the oropharyngeal region.

A research objective - to study tumor tissues of primary and recurrent patients with cancer of the oropharyngeal region for the frequency of occurrence of four types of anaerobic periodontogens and their associations by two methods: real-time PCR and cultural. There is speculation that bacteria can influence the pathogenesis of cancer. A comparative assessment of the content of four anaerobic periodontogens (Porphyromonas gingivalis, Prevotella intermedia, Tannerella forsythensis, Treponema denticola) in the tumor tissue and in the healthy tissue of the oral mucosa of patients with oropharyngeal cancer was carried out.

Susceptibility testing and reporting of new antibiotics with a focus on tedizolid: an international working group report.

Inappropriate use and overuse of antibiotics are among the most important factors in resistance development, and effective antibiotic stewardship measures are needed to optimize outcomes. Selection of appropriate antimicrobials relies on accurate and timely antimicrobial susceptibility testing. However, the availability of clinical breakpoints and in vitro susceptibility testing often lags behind regulatory approval by several years for new antimicrobials.
