We employ a functional renormalization group approach to ascertain the pairing mechanism and symmetry of the superconducting phase observed in rhombohedral trilayer graphene. Superconductivity in this system occurs in a regime of carrier density and displacement field with a weakly distorted annular Fermi sea. We find that repulsive Coulomb interactions can induce electron pairing on the Fermi surface by taking advantage of momentum-space structure associated with the finite width of the Fermi sea annulus.

We have devised an experimental method and apparatus for the simultaneous nondestructive determination of the absolute ion number, ion kinetic energy, and length of bunches of charged particles. We have built and operated a corresponding electronic detector that is based on induced charges and their subsequent low-noise amplification at cryogenic temperatures. We have performed measurements with bunches of low-energy highly charged ions from an electron-beam ion source that show the capability of the methods and their implementation.

The study material included 105 isolated bone preparations of the atlas, 100 radiographs of the cervical region of the spine, 650 spiral computed tomography (SCT) scans and 224 protocols of duplex ultrasound scanning of extracranial portions of brachiocephalic arteries and transcranial duplex scanning. Kimmerle anomaly was detected in 18% of cases in the bone material, in 17% of the cases of SCT and in 15% of cases during radiological examination. The anomaly more often is unilateral, rarely--bilateral; it may be located medially or laterally, while the vertebral artery canal more frequently is closed, less commonly--open.

A new method for finding electronic structure and wavefunctions of electrons in quasiperiodic potential is introduced. To obtain results it uses slightly modified Schrödinger equation in spaces of dimensionality higher than physical space. It enables to get exact results for quasicrystals without expensive non-exact calculations.

The effects of the small doses of the preparation Gistochrome, containing natural polyhydroxynaphtoquinoine echinochrom A from flat sea urchin Scaphechinus mirabilis, on blood biochemical parameters have been studied in patients with cardiovascular diseases. Gistochrome administration influenced the LPO-antioxidant protection system, indicating reinforcement of antioxidant protection mechanisms. Gistochrome modulated the immune status and the plasma cytokine profile.
