[Stress tolerance in patients with right ventricular infarct during the rehabilitation period].

199 patients with myocardial infarction were divided into 4 groups according to the localisation of necrosis (anterior, inferior, anterior + right ventricle, inferior + right ventricle). Exercise capacity was determined by bicycle ergometer test at the beginning of rehabilitation and 3 weeks later. Exercise capacity and ejection fraction were better in case of inferior comparing with anterior infarction.

Pocket calculator program of one-way analysis of variance.

This program has been written for the TI-59 pocket calculator. It uses Bartlett's test to supervise the homoscedasticity, then performs the one-way analysis of variance and multiple comparisons, namely Scheffé's test, Dunnett's test, Turkey's test and Newmann-Keuls's test.

Effect of steroids on ACTH release from cultured pituitary cells of the rat.

Using a primary cell culture of rat anterior pituitary and corticotropin (ACTH) RIA, the effects of various steroids have been investigated. Dexamethasone inhibited the ACTH release stimulated by alpha-melanotropin and Pitressin (posterior pituitary extract), but did not influence the non-stimulated release. The effect of all the investigated steroids was significant; aldosterone exhibited a more marked inhibition than spironolactone.
