Hypothesis: Saponins are highly surface active glycosides, and are extensively used to stabilise emulsions and foams in beverages, foods, and cosmetics. Derived from a variety of plant species these naturally occurring biosurfactants have wider potential for inclusion in many low carbon and or sustainably sourced products. Although their adsorption at the air-solution and liquid-liquid interfaces has been extensively studied, the nature of their adsorption at solid surfaces is much less clear.

The membrane-permeabilising activity of the E40 delta peptide has been demonstrated in cells and lipid vesicles suggesting the E40 delta peptide likely acts as a viroporin. The lytic activity of the peptide increases in the presence of anionic lipids and a disulphide bond in the C-terminal part of the peptide.

We hypothesized that dapagliflozin improves cardiac outcomes via beneficial effects on systemic and cardiac inflammation and cardiac fibrosis.
Research And Design Methods: This randomized placebo-controlled clinical trial enrolled 62 adult patients (mean age 62, 17% female) with type 2 diabetes (T2D) without known heart failure.
This paper considers matters of time in online mental health peer support. Significant evidence of the value of peer support exists, with new digital platforms emerging as part of the digitisation of mental health support. This paper draws from a project exploring the impact of digital platforms on peer support through interviews with users of a major UK-based online peer support platform.
