Article Synopsis
  • The study examined how medical students from five countries perceive social distance towards individuals with mental illness, using a scale called RIBS to measure their behaviors.
  • A total of 257 North Macedonian, 268 Turkish, 450 Kazakh, 512 Azerbaijani, and 317 Polish students participated, responding to clinical scenarios involving schizophrenia and depression with suicidal ideation.
  • Findings showed that social distance perceptions did not decrease as students progressed in their medical education, highlighting the need for improved training for better interaction with people experiencing mental health issues.

Frictional and fretting wear behaviors of Inconel X-750 alloy against GCr15 steel ball were investigated in dry contact condition with ∼60% air humidity. Fretting tests were run at the high frequency tribosystem SRV 4 in room temperature and ball-on-flat contact configuration were adopted with the relative oscillatory motion of small displacement amplitude (40 m). Sliding regimes, wear volumes, frictional properties, and material damage mechanisms were studied with regard to different normal loading and test durations.

In this study we examined the validity of the Azeri version of the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ). The SDQ was administered to the parents of two samples of 4-16-year-old children: the case group was drawn from children presenting to the psychiatric outpatient service (n = 347) and the comparison group from the pediatric outpatient service (n = 267). The total difficulties score and the scores for each subscale were compared between two groups.

A proof of concept study has been conducted for the design of a porous biodegradable material containing nanocapsules and two actives with independent release-bimodal drug-eluting implants. Completely safe synthetic material free from risk of prion and virus contamination was tested in vivo, and a method for controlling the rate of biodegradation of poly-2-cyanoacrylic polymer was developed. Novel perfluorinated 2-cyanoacrylic esters have been applied for the chemical modification of polyethyl-2-cyanoacrlylate copolymers.
