Background Thalassemia is the most common form of hereditary anemia caused by the impaired synthesis of one of the two globin chains in hemoglobin. A decrease in beta-globin chains occurs in beta-thalassemia, resulting in a relative excess of alpha-globin chains. Thalassemia major is the severe form of thalassemia, which requires frequent blood transfusions for survival.

It can result from various causes, including peptic ulcer disease (PUD), trauma, malignancies, and infections. Prompt diagnosis and timely intervention are critical for better outcomes, though mortality can be high, particularly in delayed cases.

EPD is a widely accepted, environmentally friendly method for applying coatings from a colloidal suspension to conductive substrates. Lead-free ferroelectric BNT-SrF5 powder was synthesized by solid state method to fabricate bulk samples and thick films (30-160 μm) by EPD process.

Patients on chronic hemodialysis are at a higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease. This study aimed to investigate the effect of 12-week probiotic supplementation on insulin resistance, oxidative stress, and lipid profiles in diabetic patients with ESRD undergoing hemodialysis.

However, CA has notable in vitro toxicity, low water solubility, and poor pharmacokinetic properties. To address these limitations, a series of CA derivatives were synthesized, resulting in the identification of derivative H26, which demonstrates a significantly enhanced hypoglycemic effect, reduced toxicity, and improved pharmacokinetic characteristics compared to CA.
