[Intracranial extension of cutaneous facial squamous cell carcinoma: involvement of the neurotropic pathway].

Background: Squamous cell carcinoma is the most common form of skin cancer after basal cell carcinoma. It comprises locoregional malignant tumours with more rapid and severe spread, and which may metastasise through blood or lymph, and through a less well-known neurotropic pathway. We report a case of late and slowly progressive recurrence of squamous cell carcinoma revealed and characterized by neurological symptoms alone.

Wound debridement: Comparative reliability of three methods for measuring fibrin percentage in chronic wounds.

The purpose of this study was to examine the intra- and interrater reliability of three methods to measure the percentage of fibrin within a wound, hence reflecting wound debridement. The three methods include visual assessment, a portable wound measurement system (PWMS) Visitrak(R), and a computerized planimetry software Canvas(R). The main objective was to compare the computerized planimetry with visual analysis.
