The frequency and factors favouring the development of cardiac rhythm disorders were studied in 306 patients operated on radically for Fallot's tetralogy (follow-up: 6 months--29 years). This complication was found in 99 patients (32.3%).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA study is presented of the results of surgical treatment and the status of working capacity in 8,072 patients operated on for congenital heart disease. The results were good in 62%, fair in 30%, poor in 4% of these patients. There was a significant discrepancy between the state of invalidity as it was established by the medical expert commission and results of surgical treatment related to overestimation of the fact of surgical intervention and inadequate approach of evaluation of the health condition of the patients undergoing surgery based on the nosological form and initial severity of the disorders of cardiodynamics.

In a group of 381 patients who were operated on for coarctation of the aorta 34 (8.9%) were found to have an aneurysm of the aorta in the zone of the correction in the late-term postoperative period. The frequency of aneurysm formation was greater in patients with flap plastics.
