Optimization of fast-ion diagnostic sets in tokamaks and stellarators using diagnostic weight functions.

The fast-ion phase-space distribution function in the magnetic fusion devices is always underdiagnosed, and every new fast-ion diagnostic should be carefully assessed before installation to minimize redundancies in measurements and maximize the information from the yet undiagnosed part of the fast-ion phase space distribution function. Here, we present a novel method of assessing the added value of a considered fast-ion diagnostic, taking actual geometry and an existing set of fast-ion diagnostics into account. The new method is based on a reformulation of the diagnostic weight functions in constants of motion (COM).

[Morphological changes in the lungs and characteristics of thromboemboli in patients with thromboembolism of the pulmonary artery].

Basing on results of pathologoanatomical investigations, performed in 26 cases, the lungs changes in pulmonary thromboembolism were analyzed. It was shown, that an acute thromboembolism of a. pulmonalis main branches did not cause an acute necrosis of pulmonary alveolar tissue, but induces progressive diffuse changes of their microcircular bed, concomitant with pulmonary hypertension.

[The drug "Selena" in the complex treatment of patients with chronic inflammatory diseases of the biliary system].

The drug selena of the Novamed firm has been shown to be of high clinical, biochemical, and immunological effectiveness in a combined treatment of patients with chronic inflammatory diseases of the biliary system presenting with immunological disorders, that was evidenced by a sooner than in controls disappearance or alleviation of clinical manifestations of the disease, normalization of clinical indices for blood, ultrastructure of the immunocompetent cells, and by less time for the functional state of the liver to return to normal. It is suggested that the drug effect on the immune system might be mediated through normalization of lipid peroxidation and of the system for antioxidant defence.
