Introduction: The Ozaki procedure is an open-heart surgery technique used in aortic valve surgery. We investigated the effect of the Ozaki procedure on postoperative hematological and biochemical parameters as in other open-heart surgery applications.
Methods: A total of 42 patients between December 2020 and December 2022 who underwent the Ozaki procedure were analyzed retrospectively.

The Ozaki Procedure is an innovative surgical technique aiming of aortic valve neocuspidization using glutaraldehyde-treated autologous pericardium was first developed by Ozaki et al in 2007. With this newly developed technique, valve replacement was achieved without using prosthetic material due to both aortic stenosis and aortic insufficiency. Between December 2020 and December 2022, a total of 59 patients were operated on with the Ozaki Procedure due to aortic valve pathologies in our center.

In recent years, thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) has largely replaced open repair as the primary treatment modality, and delayed repair of stable aortic injuries has been shown to improve mortality. In light of these major advancements, we present a 10-year institutional experience from a tertiary cardiovascular surgery center.
