Article Synopsis
  • The study focuses on isolated medial malleolar fractures, which are less common than other types of ankle fractures, and evaluates outcomes of treatment using cross-screw fixation.
  • Thirteen patients were treated and assessed for fracture healing after 3 months and functional recovery using the AOFAS score, showing positive results with an average score of 82 at 3 months and 92.2 at 24 months.
  • Cross-screw fixation is recommended for its benefits, including minimal soft-tissue damage and effective stabilization, making it a suitable option for these types of fractures.
