Aim: To study the activity of neutrophilic granulocytes in patients with opisthorchiasis, depending on the severity of liver fibrosis.

Materials And Methods: A total of 74 patients with chronic opisthorchiasis (39 men and 35 women, average age 42.3 years) and 32 practically healthy patients (17 men and 15 women, average age 41.

Background: The regulatory effect of thyroid hormones on the metabolism of the immune system cells (activation of oxidative processes, separation of oxidative phosphorylation and increased protein synthesis) depends on their number. Changes in the activity of intracellular enzymes in Graves’ disease (GD) can determine the mechanisms of maintaining autoimmune inflammation in relapse of the disease. The exact role of NAD(P)-dependent dehydrogenases in the development and maintenance of immune response in GD is still poorly investigated.

A novel chemiluminescent method was developed to evaluate ROS generation by platelets. This method allows measuring activities of NADPH oxidase (NOX2) and enzymes synthesizing secondary ROS (superoxide dismutase, catalase, etc.) in resting and ADP-activated platelets (inductor of platelet aggregation and ROS generation) using a small number of cells.

Aim: To study the relationship between the state of the respiratory burst of neutrophils and the indices of hemostasis in patients with ischemic (IS) and hemorrhagic (HS) strokes.

Material And Methods: Thirty-three patients with IS and 31 patients with HS were examined in the first 24 hours after an acute cerebrovascular accident (ACA). The diagnosis of ASA was confirmed by neuroimaging methods: computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging.
