Evolution, Ecology, and Zoonotic Transmission of Betacoronaviruses: A Review.

Coronavirus infections have been a part of the animal kingdom for millennia. The difference emerging in the twenty-first century is that a greater number of novel coronaviruses are being discovered primarily due to more advanced technology and that a greater number can be transmitted to humans, either directly or an intermediate host. This has a range of effects from annual infections that are mild to full-blown pandemics.

Comparing regression and neural network techniques for personalized predictive analytics to promote lung protective ventilation in Intensive Care Units.

Mechanical ventilation is a lifesaving tool and provides organ support for patients with respiratory failure. However, injurious ventilation due to inappropriate delivery of high tidal volume can initiate or potentiate lung injury. This could lead to acute respiratory distress syndrome, longer duration of mechanical ventilation, ventilator associated conditions and finally increased mortality.

The density-based clustering algorithm is a fundamental data clustering technique with many real-world applications. However, when the database is frequently changed, how to effectively update clustering results rather than reclustering from scratch remains a challenging task. In this work, we introduce IncAnyDBC, a unique parallel incremental data clustering approach to deal with this problem.
