Healthcare seeking for people diagnosed with severe mental illness: Sensations, symptoms and diagnostic work.

For people with mental and somatic illnesses, the interpretive process of attending to a multitude of bodily sensations and recognising them as potential symptoms represents daily and 'chronic homework'. Based on 16 months of ethnographic fieldwork in Denmark, this study explores diagnostic work and healthcare seeking among people with severe mental and somatic illnesses. As multiple studies have shown, the transformation process for a perceived sensation to become a symptom is a socially constructed interpretative process highly dependent on social legitimisation and shaped by prior cultural knowledge.

TP53 Mutation Is the Only Robust Mutational Biomarker for Outcome Found in a Consecutive Clinical Cohort of Real-Word Patients With Primary Large B-Cell Lymphoma.

Introduction: Large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL) taxonomy has moved in the direction of a molecular classification, but further clinical experience is needed. We present high-risk gene mutations, which predict outcome in an exploratory study of a consecutive real-world cohort of patients with primary LBCL treated with R-CHOP or R-CHOP-like therapy.

Magnetic resonance imaging and o-(2-[F]fluoroethyl)-l-tyrosine positron emission tomography for early response assessment of nivolumab and bevacizumab in patients with recurrent high-grade astrocytic glioma.

Background: In the present study, early response assessment by o-(2-[F]fluoroethyl)-l-tyrosine (FET) positron emission tomography (PET) and contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were investigated in a phase II open-label single-center study of nivolumab plus bevacizumab for recurrent high-grade astrocytic glioma.

Methods: Twenty patients with nonresectable first recurrence of high-grade astrocytic glioma after EORTC/NCIC protocol underwent [F]FET PET/MRI at baseline and after 2 cycles of treatment. Whole brain values of contrast-enhancing volume on MRI (CEV), of the mean (TBR) and maximal tumor-to-background ratio (TBR), and of metabolically active volume (MTV) on [F]FET PET were obtained.
